A Message from the Pastor
As we open ourselves to new possibilities, we invite you to become a part of the community of believers that is the Reformed Church in Kinnelon (RCK). Our worship services at 10:00 Sunday mornings are filled with the light of the atmosphere around us as much as they are filled with God’s good news. The sermons are thought provoking, inspiring, and even life-changing at times.
Our 10-member choir, with a full range of voices, led by choirmaster Arlene Mierop, performs nearly every Sunday. The richness of the singing is mirrored by the variety of types of music the choir performs. Sometimes, toes are tapping and fingers are snapping; other times there is a hush throughout the sanctuary as the beauty of a well-loved melody fills us with emotion.
Newcomers with small children will be glad to know that we have an excellent Children In Worship space for their benefit. Children in Worship is a Sunday School curriculum designed to engage the minds and entertain the spirit of small children as they learn about God. Specially-trained teachers tell the stories of God’s people and the works of Jesus in a creative format that uses simple wooden figurines and colorful fabric images. Your child(ren) will be entranced.
Following worship, we offer a time of food, fun and fellowship in a space just outside the side doors of the sanctuary. Join us for fresh-baked goodies as well as a selection of teas or a “just right” cup of coffee. Our fellowship time is a chance for all gathered to learn more about one another and to share the good news of God’s work in our lives.
Pastor Beverly Sullivant writes a prayer most weekday mornings and sends it to all church members and a large number of friends outside the congregation. To be put on the list, and receive these prayers directly to your e-mail, please contact Beverly at pastor@rckinnelon.org. (Please know that the prayer list is also used for occasional messages about happenings at the church.)
It is our Prayer that God will Speak to you and that you might leave our house uplifted and strengthened by the love God has for YOU.
Prayer for the Month: Guide us, Oh Lord by your Word and Holy Spirit, that in your light we may see light, in your Truth we find freedom and in your will we discover peace. Amen
